(a) The commissioner of labor and workforce development may, upon written application by an employer, issue an order granting the employer a temporary variance from standards promulgated under this chapter.(b) The order shall prescribe the practices, means, methods, operations and processes that the employer must adopt or use while the variance is in effect and state in detail a program for coming into compliance with the standard.Acts 1972, ch. 561, § 13; 1974, ch. 585, § 36; 1977, ch. 111, § 27; T.C.A., § 50-546; Acts 1999, ch. 520, § 41.
