For the purposes of this chapter:(1) 'State' includes the states of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands; and(2) 'United States,' when used in a geographical sense, includes the states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.Acts 1947, ch. 29, § 2; C.
