Whenever any proof of financial responsibility filed under this part no longer fulfills the purposes for which required, the commissioner shall, for the purpose of this part, require other proof as required by this part and shall suspend the license and the nonresident's operating privilege pending the filing of the proof. If the commissioner of safety suspends a person's license for failure to provide proof of financial responsibility as provided in this part, the commissioner of safety shall also request that the commissioner of revenue suspend that person's motor vehicle registration pending the filing of that proof.Acts 1977, ch. 446, § 34; T.C.A., § 59-1284; Acts 2007, ch. 484, § 92.
