Section 55-17-101 - Legislative findings and declaration

The general assembly finds and declares that the distribution and/or sale of motor vehicles in the state vitally affects the general economy of the state and the public interest and the public welfare, and in the exercise of its police power, it is necessary to regulate and to license motor vehicle manufacturers, distributors, dealers, salespersons, and their representatives doing business in Tennessee in order to prevent frauds, impositions and other abuses upon its citizens.Acts 1955, ch. 79, § 1; T.C.A., § 59-1701; Acts 1991, ch. 359, § 4.
