The transferee, before operating or permitting the operation of a transferred vehicle upon a highway, shall apply for and obtain a registration and apply for a certificate of title for the transferred vehicle in the manner provided in § 55-4-101, except as otherwise permitted in §§ 55-3-120 and 55-3-121.Acts 1951, ch. 70, § 49 (Williams, § 5538.149); T.C.A.
