The department shall transmit, in an electronic format, necessary information contained on applications for an intermediate driver license, driver license, renewal of driver license or photo identification license to the federal selective service system for any male United States citizen or immigrant who is at least eighteen (18) years of age but less than twenty-six (26) years of age and is required to be registered pursuant to the Military Selective Service Act of 1967 (50 U.S.C. Appx. § 451 et seq.); provided, that the department shall not be required to transmit the information until the department has a sufficient computer operating system in place to efficiently effectuate the transmission.Acts 2002, ch. 781, § 2.
