Section 55-8-107 - Persons working on highways - Exceptions

Unless specifically made applicable, the provisions of this chapter and chapter 10, parts 1-5 of this title, except those contained in § 55-10-205, shall not apply to persons, teams, motor vehicles and other equipment while actually engaged in work upon the surface of a highway or the adjacent right-of-way, but shall apply to these persons and vehicles when traveling to or from such work. This section shall not relieve the driver of a motor vehicle or equipment covered by this section from the duty to drive with due regard for the safety of all persons, all as provided by law.Acts 1955, ch. 329, § 6; T.C.A., § 59-807; Acts 2002, ch. 740, §§ 1, 2.
