Section 55-9-216 - Steering wheels - Penalty for violation

(a) It is unlawful for anyone to install or maintain a steering wheel of less than twelve inches (12') in diameter in any motor vehicle operated upon any highway, street or public road of this state; provided, however, that this subsection (a) does not apply to any motor vehicle specially equipped for persons with disabilities or originally equipped with such a steering wheel by the original manufacturer of same.(b) Any person who violates this section shall be fined not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) nor more than fifty dollars ($50.00) for each violation.Acts 1979, ch. 213, § 1; T.C.A., § 59-941; Acts 2011, ch. 47, § 58.
