Section 56-2-608 - Discretionary continuances

The court, in any action, suit or proceeding in which service is made in the manner provided in § 56-2-603 or § 56-2-604, may, in its discretion, order a postponement that may be necessary to afford the defendant reasonable opportunity to comply with § 56-2-607, and to defend the action.Acts 1955, ch. 2, § 3; T.C.A., §§ 56-334, 56-253.
