Section 56-51-146 - Investigative power of department

The department has the power to examine and investigate the affairs of every person, entity, or prepaid limited health service organization in order to determine whether the person, entity, or prepaid limited health service organization is operating in accordance with this chapter, or has been or is engaged in any unfair method of competition or in any unfair or deceptive act or practice prohibited by §§ 56-8-103 and 56-8-104. The department also has the powers enumerated in chapter 8 of this title.Acts 2000, ch. 948, § 46.
