The air force of the national guard shall be the air national guard and shall comprise the air units which are a part of the national guard on March 2, 1970, and such other air units as may be organized hereafter, including the personnel who are enlisted, appointed or commissioned therein; provided, that all persons who are members of the air national guard shall be federally recognized as such. The light aviation units of the army national guard shall not be considered air units within the meaning of parts 1, 2 and 4-6 of this chapter.Acts 1970, ch. 596, § 19; T.C.A., § 7-120.
