Section 58-1-231 - Service medals

A service medal shall be issued to each officer or enlisted member of the national guard at the completion of five (5) years of honorable service therein, continuous or otherwise, with a clasp indicating such service affixed thereto and for each additional five (5) years of like service a clasp to be affixed to such medal; provided, that all members of the national guard who were active members as officers or enlisted personnel of the military or naval forces of the United States in time of war and who received honorable discharge from such service shall be issued an additional clasp indicative of such wartime service to be affixed to the medal hereinabove provided.Acts 1970, ch. 596, § 94; T.C.A., § 7-148.
