Section 6-21-101 - Appointment and removal of city manager

(a) The board of commissioners shall appoint and fix the salary of the city manager, who shall serve at the will of the board.(b)(1) The city manager may not be removed within twelve (12) months from the date on which the city manager assumed the duties of the city manager, except for incompetence, malfeasance, misfeasance, or neglect of duty.(2) In case of the city manager's removal within that period, the city manager may demand written charges and a public hearing thereon before the board prior to the date on which final removal shall take effect.
