(a) Nothing in this chapter or the rules and regulations thereunder shall be construed to require an applicant for a license who is certified by a recognized church or religious denomination that teaches reliance on spiritual means alone for healing to demonstrate proficiency in any medical techniques or to meet any medical educational qualifications or medical standards not in accordance with remedial care and treatment provided in such institutions.(b) Such administrative practice is limited to institutions certified by such church or denominations for the care and treatment of the sick in accordance with its teachings.Acts 1970, ch. 565, § 10; T.C.A., § 63-1610.
