Section 63-19-114 - Use of title "physician assistant" or abbreviation "PA

(a) A person who holds a valid license or temporary license from the board has the right to use the title 'physician assistant,' the abbreviation 'PA,' or the abbreviation 'PA-C.' No other person may assume that title or use those abbreviations, or any words, signs, letters, or devices to indicate that the person using them is a physician assistant.(b) A person who meets the qualifications for licensure under this chapter but does not possess a current license may use the title 'PA,' 'physician assistant,' or 'PA-C,' but may not act or practice as a PA unless licensed under this chapter.(c) This section does not apply to public accountants or certified public accountants.
