Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, in the absence or unavailability of a spouse, any minor is authorized and empowered to consent for such minor's child, either orally or otherwise, to any surgical or medical treatment or procedures not prohibited by law that may be suggested, recommended, prescribed or directed by a duly licensed physician.Acts 1995, ch. 317, § 1.
