Section 66-22-115 - Recognition of certificate of acknowledgment

(a) The form of a certificate of acknowledgment used by a person whose authority is recognized under §§ 66-22-103 and 66-22-104, shall be accepted in this state if the:(1) Certificate is in a form prescribed by the laws or regulations of this state; or(2) Certificate is in a form prescribed by the laws or regulations applicable in the other state, or territory, or foreign country in which the acknowledgment is taken.(b) A notarial act performed prior to March 29, 1995, is not affected by this section. This section provides an additional method of proving notarial acts. Nothing in this section diminishes or invalidates the recognition accorded to notarial acts by other laws or regulations of this state.Acts 1995, ch. 52, § 1.
