Section 68-3-503 - Delayed registration of death

(a) When a death occurring in this state has not been registered within the time period prescribed by § 68-3-502, a certificate may be filed in accordance with the regulations of the department. The certificate shall be registered subject to such evidentiary requirements as the department shall, by regulation, prescribe to substantiate the alleged facts of death.(b) Certificates of death registered six (6) months or more after the date of death shall be marked 'delayed.'Acts 1977, ch. 128, § 15; T.C.A., § 53-472.
