The purpose of this part is to urge all providers of health care services that assume responsibility for patients with diabetes, hypertension or a family history of kidney disease to counsel these patients regarding chronic kidney disease, to test such patients for chronic kidney disease, and to ensure that consulting laboratories provide appropriate reports concerning chronic kidney disease.Acts 2005, ch. 172, § 3.
