(a) For the purpose of this section, 'beverage' means drinks in liquid form intended for human consumption.(b) No person shall sell or offer for sale any metal beverage container so designed and constructed that a part of the container is detachable in opening the container.(c) Nothing in this section shall prohibit the sale of fruit juices, fruit-ade and vegetable juices in containers the only detachable part of which is a piece of nonmetallic tape.(d) Nothing in this section shall prohibit the sale of metal beverage containers with detachable opening devices for milk-based products, soy-based products or similar products, which require heat and pressure in the canning process.Acts 1981, ch. 214, §§ 1, 2; 1982, ch. 685, § 1; T.C.A., §§ 53-2315, 68-16-107.
