(a) As an alternative method for the establishment of a watershed district, any such district may be organized and established in the same manner as a levee and drainage district by the procedure set forth in chapter 5 of this title.(b) In event this alternative procedure is followed, it will not be necessary to file a petition with the Tennessee soil and water conservation commission, and chapter 5 of this title shall apply to the organization of the district.(c) Any watershed district that is organized by following the procedure prescribed by chapter 5 of this title has the same objectives and purposes and possesses the same powers as provided for in this chapter.Amended by 2021 Tenn.
