'Residential builder' or 'residential maintenance and alteration contractor' shall be construed to mean any person, firm or corporation who, for a fixed sum, price, percentage, consideration or other compensation other than wages, contracts with another for the erection, construction, repair, replacement, alteration or addition to, subtraction from or demolition of a residential or residential-commercial combination building.Acts 1963, ch. 317, § 2; T.C.A., § 6-736.
