(a) In accordance with the Constitution of Tennessee, Article 3, § 5, which states, '[T]he Militia shall not be called into service except in case of rebellion or invasion, and then only when the General Assembly shall declare, by law, that the public safety requires it[,]' the General Assembly authorizes the Governor of the State of Tennessee to deploy up to a brigade-sized force to Texas to assist in repelling the invasion at the southern border of the United States.(b) The deployment is authorized during fiscal year 2024-2025.Added by 2024 Tenn.
