Section 8-35-242 - Teachers and employees of a public charter school

(a) All teachers and employees of a public charter school that converts from a public school shall continue to participate in the same retirement program as the teachers and employees of the local board of education to which the charter school is associated. Such participation shall be under the same terms and conditions as the teachers and employees of the local board of education. For retirement purposes, all teachers and employees of such a public charter school shall be considered employees of the local board of education and such board of education shall be responsible for all reporting and submission of funds to the appropriate retirement system.(b) All teachers and employees of a new public charter school shall participate in the same retirement program as the teachers and employees of the local board of education to which the charter school is associated.
