A teacher, in the service of an employer operating a local retirement fund, who becomes a member of this retirement system by entrance into the service of an employer without a local retirement fund, shall contribute to the retirement system while so employed and continue with the previous service credits in the retirement system which the teacher had at the time of becoming a member, as if the teacher had been a member during such period of service.Acts 1972, ch. 814, § 9; T.C.A., § 8-3933(4).
