Section 8-50-702 - Part definitions - Teachers' contributions to the volunteer public education trust

(a) As used in this part, unless the context otherwise requires: (1) 'Local education agency' or 'LEA' has the same definition as used in § 49-3-104; and(2) 'Teacher' has the same definition as used in § 8-34-101.(b)(1) All LEAs may make available to any teacher the option of contributing to the volunteer public education trust fund by payroll deductions.(2) The authorization form for deductions provided by an LEA shall conform to that required for state employees in § 8-50-701(b).(3) The LEA shall allow any teacher to revoke, alter, or amend that teacher's authorization for deduction of contributions by written notification at any time.Amended by 2022 Tenn.
