Section 8-8-103 - Surety bond

Before entering into the duties of the office, the sheriff shall take an oath to support the constitutions of this state and of the United States, and an oath of office pursuant to § 8-8-104. The sheriff shall execute an official bond in an amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000), or such greater amount as the county legislative body by resolution may determine.
