Section 8-8-202 - Advance fees on process from other counties

No sheriff or constable shall be compelled to execute any subpoena or original summons in civil cases coming from any county other than the one in which such sheriff or constable is an officer, unless the fees allowed such sheriff or constable by law for the service of such process, if demanded, are paid in advance. However, this section does not apply to summons, executions, or other orders of a court rendered in a proceeding to collect delinquent property taxes as defined in § 67-5-2502(c)(1)(D).Amended by 2024 Tenn.
