Section 8-8-502 - Notice to owner - Time for claiming property

Prior to disposing of such property, the sheriff shall make a reasonable effort to locate the true owner of the property and notify such owner of the sheriff's possession of the property. The true owner, when located, shall claim the property within a reasonable time.Acts 1961, ch. 259, § 2; T.C.A., § 8-829.
