§ 1046.055

(a) A person may not be elected or appointed as a director unless the person is:(1) a district resident; and(2) a qualified voter.(b) A director elected or appointed to represent a commissioners precinct must be a resident of that commissioners precinct. Failure of the director to maintain residence in the commissioners precinct is a ground for removal from office in the manner provided by law for removal of county officers.(c) A person is not eligible to serve as a director if the person is:(1) an administrator for the district or a district hospital;(2) the attorney for the district; or(3) a district employee.
