§ 1053.104

(a) The district has the responsibility to establish a hospital or hospital system, including medical or other health facilities within its boundaries to provide hospital and medical care to the district's residents.(b) Subject to approval of the commissioners court, the district may provide primary care, emergency services, preventive medicine services, and other health-related services outside the district, provided the activities fulfill the purposes of the district under Subsection (a) and Section 1053.101(b).
