§ 1069.117

(a) The board shall require a county, municipality, or public hospital located outside the district to reimburse the district for the district's care and treatment of a sick or injured person of that county, municipality, or public hospital as provided by Chapter 61, Health and Safety Code.(b) The board shall require the sheriff of a county or the police chief of a municipality to reimburse the district for the district's care and treatment of a person confined in a jail facility of the county or municipality who is not a district resident.(c) The board may contract with the state or federal government for that government to reimburse the district for treatment of a sick or injured person.
