§ 1089.053

(a) To be eligible to be a candidate for or to serve as a director, a person must be:(1) a resident of the district; and(2) a qualified voter.(b) A person who is elected from a commissioners precinct or who is appointed to fill a vacancy for a commissioners precinct must be a resident of that commissioners precinct.(c) A district employee may not serve as a director.
