(a) The board shall appoint a medical director.(b) To be qualified for appointment as the medical director, a person must:(1) be a doctor of medicine; and(2) actively practice medicine in the district.(c) The medical director is in charge of all matters of a medical nature in the district, subject to any rules adopted by the board.(d) The medical director is entitled to:(1) attend all meetings of the board; and(2) take part in all board discussions.(e) The medical director may not vote at a meeting of the board.
