Texas Legal Code
(a) To be qualified to serve as a director, a person must be at least 18 years old and:(1) a district resident;(2) an owner of real property in the district;(3) an owner of stock, whether beneficial or otherwise, of a corporate owner of real property in the district;(4) an owner of a beneficial interest in a trust that owns real property in the district; or(5) an agent, employee, or tenant of a person described by Subdivision (2), (3), or (4).(b) For purposes of this section, a person or entity that owns an interest in a general or limited partnership owning real property in the district or that has a lease of real property in the district with a remaining term of 10 years or more, excluding options, is considered to be an owner of real property.
