(a) An application for a place on the ballot must be:(1) filed with the secretary of the board or another person designated by the board; and(2) signed by:(A) the candidate; or(B) 10 or more qualified voters of the district.(b) The filing period for an application for a place on the ballot is the same as provided by Chapter 143, Election Code.
