Texas Legal Code
(a) Port commissioners are appointed as follows:(1) the Commissioners Court of Nueces County shall appoint three port commissioners;(2) the city council of the City of Corpus Christi shall appoint three port commissioners; and(3) the Commissioners Court of San Patricio County shall appoint one port commissioner.(b) Port commissioners serve staggered three-year terms that expire in January.(c) A port commissioner may not serve more than four full terms.(d) A person must have been a resident of Nueces County for at least six months to be eligible for appointment to the port commission by the Commissioners Court of Nueces County or the city council of the City of Corpus Christi.(e) Subsections (c) and (d) do not apply to a person serving as a port commissioner on June 9, 1995.
