The district is a conservation and reclamation district created under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, for the sole purpose of the reclamation and drainage of the district's overflowed lands and other lands needing drainage. Added by Acts 2015, 84th Leg., R.S., Ch. 855 (S.B. 1162), Sec. 1.01, eff. April 1, 2017.
