(a) The board shall appoint a tax assessor and collector and may appoint deputies that the board considers necessary.(b) The tax assessor and collector and each deputy shall qualify by executing a bond for $10,000 conditioned on the faithful performance of the person's duties. The bond must be payable to the district and approved by the board.(c) The board shall set the compensation of the tax assessor and collector and any deputies.
