(a) Except as provided by this section, the authority has the same power of eminent domain in Nueces County as it has in Jim Wells County.(b) The power is strictly limited to an acquisition necessary to acquire:(1) an easement or right-of-way necessary to build a pipeline from the city to a point on the Nueces River from which water will be obtained from Corpus Christi under a contract;(2) fee simple title to any land reasonably necessary for the erection of a pumping station or stations near the pipeline to be built under Subdivision (1); or(3) land or an interest in land located inside or outside the authority on which to place reservoirs, works, wells, plants, transmission lines, or other facilities necessary or helpful in impounding, storing, or treating water or in transporting water to the city or to others for municipal, domestic, agricultural, commercial, or other purposes.
