(a) If real property owned by the state and sold under this subchapter was acquired by a county or municipality and if a part of that acquisition cost was reimbursed to the county or municipality by the state, the department may pay the county or municipality a percentage of the proceeds of the sale that is equal to the percentage of the value or cost not reimbursed to the county or municipality at the time of the initial acquisition.(b) Reimbursement under this section applies only to real property that the commission determines was never used for the purpose for which it was acquired.
