The commission may acquire, improve, and maintain a strip of real property adjacent to a federal-aid highway in this state if the property is necessary to restore, preserve, or enhance scenic beauty. Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.
