Texas Legal Code
(a) The governing body of a contiguous municipality, at any time after confirmation of a subregional authority, may order an election for the dissolution of the authority.(b) The governing body of a contiguous municipality, before the first anniversary of the confirmation election confirming an authority created by the municipality, shall on receipt of a petition containing the signatures of at least 20 percent of the registered voters of the contiguous municipality order an election for the dissolution of the authority.(c) In an election ordered under Subsection (a) or (b) the following proposition shall be submitted to the voters: 'Shall the (name of authority) be continued in the city of (name of city)?'(d) If the majority of votes received in the election do not favor the proposition, the subregional authority ceases to exist on the day after the date of the canvass of the election and all financial obligations of that unit of election stop accruing at that time.(e) Taxes shall continue to be collected until all financial obligations of the subregional authority are paid and may not be collected after
