§ 501.161

(a) A person who transfers a motor vehicle in this state shall complete in full and date as of the date of the transfer all documents relating to the transfer of registration or title. A person who transfers a vehicle commits an offense if the person fails to execute the documents in full.(b) A person commits an offense if the person:(1) accepts a document described by Subsection (a) that does not contain all of the required information; or(2) alters or mutilates such a document.(c) An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $50 and not more than $200.
