(a) A dealer must hold a general distinguishing number for a consignment location unless the consignment location is a wholesale motor vehicle auction.(b) If a person is not otherwise prohibited from doing business as a dealer at more than one location in the territory of a municipality, a person may buy, sell, or exchange a vehicle of the type for which the person holds a dealer general distinguishing number from more than one location in the territory of the municipality without obtaining an additional dealer general distinguishing number.
