Texas Legal Code
(a) A dealer must hold a general distinguishing number for a consignment location unless the consignment location is a wholesale motor vehicle auction.(b) If a person is not otherwise prohibited from doing business as a dealer at more than one location in the territory of a municipality, a person may buy, sell, or exchange a vehicle of the type for which the person holds a dealer general distinguishing number from more than one location in the territory of the municipality without obtaining an additional dealer general distinguishing number. Each location must comply with the requirements prescribed by this chapter and board rules relating to an established and permanent place of business. Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff.
