(a) The department shall issue specialty license plates for persons who are recipients of a Star of Texas Award under Chapter 3106, Government Code. The license plates must include the Star of Texas Award emblem and the words 'Star of Texas.'(b) The surviving spouse of a person who was the posthumous recipient of an award described by Subsection (a) is entitled to specialty license plates issued under this section.
