(a) The department shall issue specialty license plates for a vehicle that is temporarily operated on public highways, during daylight hours only, and on which machinery is mounted solely to load logs on other vehicles.(b) The fee for issuance of the license plates is $62.50.(c) A person entitled to specialty license plates under this section may register the vehicle without payment of any fee paid for or at the time of registration other than the fee for the license plates.(d) A vehicle having a license plate issued under this section is exempt from the inspection requirements of Chapter 548.(e) This section does not apply to a vehicle used to haul logs.(f) Repealed by Acts 2011, 82nd Leg., R.S., Ch. 1296, Sec. 247(17), eff.
