§ 521.043

The department is not required to maintain records relating to a person if the director decides that the records are no longer necessary, except that the department shall maintain a record of a conviction as long as the record may be used:(1) as grounds for a license cancellation, suspension, revocation, or denial; or(2) in conjunction with other records of convictions, to establish that a person is a frequent violator of traffic laws.
