§ 521.162

(a) The department shall design and administer in each county of this state an alternate examination for Spanish-speaking applicants who are unable to take the regular examination in English.(b) The alternate examination must be identical to the examination administered to other applicants under Section 521.161 except that all directions and written material, other than the text of highway signs, must be in Spanish. The text of highway signs must be in English. Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.
