§ 521.164

(a) The department by rule may provide that a holder of a driver's license issued to the person by another state or Canadian province and who is otherwise qualified may, after passing the vision test and paying the required fees, be issued a driver's license without the complete examination required under Section 521.161.(b) A license issued under this section must be of the class of license equivalent to the license issued by the other jurisdiction. Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.
